Having a GPS on Your Boat
My husband and I owned a 24′ boat that didn’t have a GPS system in it. My husband was an expert at reading charts and knew exactly where we were going and how to get there. When we purchased our 33′ boat a few years ago it came with a GPS. Most new boats now come with marine GPS devices. It has truly made boating much more pleasurable and easier. Since we do quite a bit of evening/night boating we have saved coordinates in our GPS so that we can safely get back to the marina in the dark. We are taking full advantage of having the GPS on our boat and now take much longer trips in our boat.
