Key issues in dog training.
You just got a new puppy, and now what? You look at your new puppy, and he looks so cute, so innocent, so sweet, but all of the sudden he does not look that innocent, sweet or cute, he just pee on the carpet. Well, you say to yourself, "that was only one incident, he will get better". A couple of hours pass, you take your puppy out to the yard, wait for him to do his "business", but nothing happens. You bring your puppy back in, and as soon as he is inside the house, he goes about doing his "business", inside the house. This same scenario happens over and over. "What is wrong with this dog?", you wonder. Sounds familiar? Yes, for many dog owners the scenario is way too common. Getting a new dog can be one of the happiest episodes of our lives, but it can also bring a lot of headaches. One of the key issues in dog training is to understand what is the best way to do it, and how to minimize the frustrations associated with it. Unfortunately, there are so many conflicting dog training methods out there, that is hard to decide which one is best for your dog. Prior to deciding which dog training method is the best, do some research, maybe read a book or two on dog training, and then start applying the techniques as you see fit. Avoid any resource that focus on negative reinforcement.
