The Bill for Family Entertainment Protection
On November 29, 2005, the United States Family Entertainment Protection Act was first presented. Senator Hilary Clinton along with her other co-senators Joe Lieberman, Tim Johnson and Evan Bayh presented this act for a federal directive on enforcement of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) ratings system. This bill is authored for video games in order to protect kids from indecent and unsuitable content.
However, the bill did not become a law along with other related bills in other places in United States such as Michigan and Illinois. The Family Entertainment Protection Act was only referred to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. It terminated at the end of the 109th assembly of Congress with no further action.
