Helping My Friend Look Up Lawyers
My friend, Bill, was getting a divorce. He and his wife, Amy, had always been hot-headed and volatile but, according to Bill, he had had enough. So, he came over one evening after dinner and we formed a battle plan. Together we searched the yellow pages for Sacramento divorce attorneys and found a guy who looked perfect. Then, we started listing out the things that Bill wanted to keep from the house and what he was willing to give Amy. Two hours was all the time it took. After listing out possessions, railing again Amy and her stubborn ways, and budgeting out the lawyer, Bill was done. He just couldn’t do it; he loved her. I wished him a good night and watched him walk back across the street to his own house. Was anyone disappointed about the outcome? No. He’d been coming over and doing the same thing every other week since he and Amy got married twenty-two years ago. But they loved each other; they loved each other very much.
