How To Build Muscle By Working, Feeding And Resting Them
A significant cause why people fail in their bodybuilding endeavors is because they fail to appreciate the importance of rest. Proper diet, effective training and ample rest are all critically important for learning how to build muscle. The rate at which the damaged muscles can repair and rebuild themselves depends upon factors such as genetic constitution and nutrition.
Overtraining can be counterproductive – burning-off valuable calories (that could otherwise be used for muscles-building) and making your muscles unresponsive. When you weight-train, your muscles undergo wear and tear. This stimulates repairing and rebuilding of the damaged muscles to make them stronger. You need atleast eight hours of undisturbed sleep to rest fully. Along with complete rest, you can also take glutamine supplements for speedy recovery.
Ideally, you should do 1hour of high intensity workout, 2-3times/week, punctuated by 2 days of rest period. If you workout in splits, restrict yourself to 5 workouts/week. To rejuvenate your body, take 1-2weeks break after every 8-12weeks of continuous workouts.
