Promote from within
One of the secrets of keeping a company running after decades is to keep the family atmosphere while promoting from within. Let’s use Ferguson Movers, one of the oldest Vancouver moving companies, as an example. The company was started in 1913 by three Irish immigrants. In 1948, a hardworking young man joined the company and eventually became president after more than 12 years of providing some of the best services in the industry. The next president joined the company as a junior team member and eventually became president some ten years later from his hard work. Results? After close to a hundred years, the company is still going strong and they are still doing what they do best.
