European Emission Standards

So, you’re thinking of traveling from the United States to Europe and renting or purchasing a left hand drive car and hitting the road. You’re looking forward to being able to purchase some fuel and wander farther around the streets than you would be able to at home. You’re wondering, though, do European countries have their own emission standards? The answer is yes. Similar to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in America, in Europe there is the VCA (Vehicle Certification Agency). The VCA researches many topics of concern, from fuel consumption to emissions. The VCA studies how carbon dioxide affects climate changes and how carbon monoxide and other emissions pollute the air. The VCA even conducts studies on noise pollution!
